This investigation brings together a wide range of concepts KS3/4 concepts:

• Algebraic expressions
• Quadratic equations
• Reasoning (algebraic or visual)
• Pythagorean triples (for toughest application question)

It is one of the more difficult investigations so it is strongly encouraged for teachers to consider where pupils may require scaffolding, particularly in section 3 (application).

This depends on if you want pupils to answer every question.
