Pupils investigate the so-called Collatz Conjecture, write out number sequences, plot a line graph, and think about powers of 2.

Powers of 2 and basic graphs (to plot a simple time series).

1. A print a copy of pupil sheet off for each pupil.

2. Play the YouTube explanation video up to 03:30.

3. Let pupils work their way through the tasks at their own pace. They will need the video to have been played to answer the first question on the sheet.
