Pupils explore the classic 9-colour cube puzzle from Nrich.

This requires pupils to construct a $3 \times 3 \times 3$ cube using 3 smaller cubes of 9 different colours.

A simple to explain, low-floor but deceptively tricky puzzle.

• Appreciation of symmetry

1. Read the attached A4 teacher sheet.
2. Print one copy of attached A4 pupil sheet per pupil or per pair.
3. Make sure you have enough multi-link cubes!

You will need 9 different colours, 3 of each colour per pupil/pair.
